Job summary

CancerCare Manitoba in Winnipeg is looking for a Nursing Assistant to perform clerical and supportive duties for patients and staff in the Outpatient Clinic Services Program. You will help ensure patient comfort and maintain a clean clinical environment under the Unit Manager's guidance.

Requirements include a recognized Nursing Assistant course, basic computer skills, and BCLS certification or ability to obtain prior to employment. This is a full-time, day-shift role at St. Boniface Hospital.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a recognized Nursing Assistant Course (Completion of Health Care Aide and Health Unit Clerk)
• Basic computer skills
• Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or ability to obtain same prior to employment
• Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting and transporting of patients, samples, and equipment to other areas
• Satisfactory employment record
• Must be able to legally work in Canada

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Unit Manager, the Nursing Assistant performs a variety of clerical tasks and supportive functions for patient and staff.
• The incumbent ensures the care and comfort of patients as well as routine cleanliness of the clinical work environment
