Position Overview

We need an academic content and software professional in our Engineering department. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to develop engaging courseware, real-world applications, and demonstrations, improving user experience for our systems. The role can include tasks like electromechanical design, project management, product marketing, and sales support, depending on your interests.

The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree, with specialization in control, robotics, or mechatronics, and has very strong English writing skills. Experience as an instructor, TA, laboratory coordinator, or engineer is a plus. Most importantly, you should be passionate about innovative education approaches.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in customer-facing activities such as tradeshows, webinars, and training
  • Travel, including internationally, may be required
  • Serve as the technical knowledge expert for Quanser’s product line
  • Engage in custom R&D and application development as needed
  • Collaborate with technical teams on courseware, applications, and demonstrations
  • Work with marketing, sales, and production departments
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in engineering from a recognized university; specializations in mechatronics, robotics, or controls preferred
  • Graduate degree in relevant engineering discipline is an asset
  • Near-perfect English writing skills; ability to explain complex concepts clearly
  • Teaching experience is a plus
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in a tech company preferred
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency with digital communication tools: Office, Adobe, LaTeX
  • Strong MATLAB/Simulink and/or Python skills, plus programming knowledge (C++, Java)
  • Experience with ROS 1/2, control systems, machine learning, and frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch
  • Experience deploying on NVIDIA edge devices is a plus
Preferred Technical Skills
  • Experience with DAQ systems, digital media tools, course design, source control (SVN, Github)
