Job summary

easy-outsource is seeking an estimator to interpret architectural drawings and produce precise take-offs for carpeting and flooring. You will prepare detailed quotes and collaborate with Sales and Project teams to ensure accurate pricing and timely proposals.

The role requires 3+ years in estimating or related fields, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD, Revit), and meticulous numerical accuracy. Experience with Salesforce is a plus, in a fast-paced design environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Architecture or related field, or 3+ years of relevant experience.
• At least 3 years in estimating, drafting, architecture, interior design, or construction.
• Proficient with take-off and design tools: AutoCAD, Revit, Acrobat.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail with good communication.
• Experience with Salesforce or CRM is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and prepare material take-offs for carpets and flooring.
• Prepare cost estimates and client quotations based on pricing structures.
• Enter quotes and opportunities in Salesforce; coordinate with Sales, PM, and Procurement.
• Maintain documentation of quotes, revisions, and communications.

Job description

This position is responsible for interpreting architectural drawings, completing precise material and quantity take-offs, and preparing detailed and timely quotes. The successful candidate will support a range of simple to complex design projects, including residential, hotel, and commercial floor plans, and will play an essential role in delivering accurate proposals that support both project success and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Take-offs and Estimating

• Review and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and floor plans for bespoke wall and floor coverings
• Complete accurate material and quantity take-offs, with emphasis on carpet and area rugs
• Identify materials, quantities, labour components, and specific project requirements
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and client quotations based on established pricing structures
• Offer value-engineering recommendations and alternative solutions when appropriate

Project and CRM management

• Enter and maintain quotes, opportunities, and customer information within Salesforce
• Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, and Procurement teams to confirm lead times, pricing, and project constraints
• Maintain organized documentation of all quotes, drawings, revisions, and communications
• Update internal systems with take-off information, pricing adjustments, and project notes

Support and collaboration

• Provide clarification on drawings and quotations to internal teams, clients, and vendors
• Contribute to improving estimating tools, templates, and workflows
• Remain current with industry standards, product updates, and construction terminology

Qualifications Required:

• Diploma or degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Drafting, or a related field, or a minimum of three years of experience reading and interpreting floor plans
• Minimum of three years of experience in estimating, drafting, architecture, interior design, construction, or related work
• Strong proficiency with take-off and design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Acrobat measurement tools
• General understanding of construction drawings, symbols, and terminology
• Exceptional attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Experience using Microsoft Office
• Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM platform

Preferred:

• Experience in estimating flooring, carpet, or interior finishes
• Experience working within hospitality, commercial, or residential design sectors
• Familiarity with building codes or industry-specific materials
• Experience with additional quoting software or CRM platforms
