Job summary

Schaeffler Aerospace Canada Inc. is seeking a quality assurance professional to ensure product and process conformity in our production area. You will conduct QA tasks, support problem solving, and help stop defective parts when needed, contributing to process improvements and ongoing production readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Perform operational quality assurance tasks and verification of product or process conformity, in a production area.
  • Conduct quality assurance tasks across the manufacturing process, with authority to stop production and block suspect or defective parts or products.
  • Assist in identifying weak areas and implementing defined improvement actions.
  • Contribute to technical optimization of quality aspects in production or assembly processes.
  • Support the restart of production lines after confirming resolution of quality issues and ensure equipment meets standards.
  • Ensure QA documentation is understood and applied by production personnel.
  • Support capability checks of manufacturing and inspection equipment during release/restart.
  • Coordinate repairs of measuring instruments under supervision; assist in design and purchase of custom tooling with IE and external sources for M&T equipment.

  • Competitive wages –starting rate: $31.95; top rate: $36.99per hour + shift premiums);

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Perform operational quality assurance tasks and verification of product or process conformity, in a production area. Support structured problem-solving activities.
  • Conduct quality assurance tasks across the manufacturing process, with authority to stop production, decide on blocking of suspect or defective parts or products.
  • Assist in the identification of weak areas and implementation of defined improvement actions.
  • Contribute to technical optimization of quality aspects in production or assembly processes assigned.
  • Support the restart of production lines after confirming resolution of quality issues, ensuring equipment meets required standards.
  • Ensure that Q-related production documentation is understood and correctly applied by production personnel.
  • Support capability check of manufacturing and inspection equipment during release/restart.
  • Repairs to Measuring Instruments under the direction of the manufacuter - not to exceed point of machine lock-out
  • Co-ordinate major repairs of Measuring and Testing equipment including requisitons for PO creation
  • Co-ordinate design and purchase of custom tooling application with IE and external sources for M&T equipment
  • Assist in development of future measuring equipment needs.
Your Qualifications
  • Vocationally trained in Metrology, Electrical, Computer Technologies and/or 5 years related Metrology Experience.
  • Willingness to expand on job training as required.
