Schaeffler Aerospace Canada Inc. in Stratford, Ontario, is seeking a Quality Inspector (Segment 2; Aerospace) to inspect parts and materials to quality standards.

The role includes using gauge tools, reading drawings, and performing various inspection tasks in a climate-controlled production area. The position requires a Grade 12 diploma, competency at inspector level or related quality experience, and knowledge of quality systems/policies.

Qualifications

• Education: Grade 12 diploma.
• Experience: Demonstrated competency at Inspector level or mechanical aptitude and/or related quality experience.
• Skills: Knowledge of quality systems/policies.

Responsibilities

• Accurately inspect a variety of parts and/or purchased material dimensionally and/or visually, including non-destructive testing methods to prescribed quality standards and procedures.
• Proficient in the use of standard measuring gauge tools including mechanical, pneumatic, optical and electrical devices.
• Follow inspection protocols as prescribed in applicable quality procedures.
• Perform several different inspection operations requiring skill, judgment and/or interpretation, including final visual.
• Read and interpret production prints, and other written instructions necessary to perform assigned work.
• Be able to make setups or adjustments on various standard gauges or equipment.
• Record routine data and count parts as directed.
• Training new employees and other inspectors/operators as required.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret production prints, and other written instructions necessary to perform assigned work.
• Perform several different inspection operations requiring skill, judgment and/or interpretation, including final visual.
• Be able to make setups or adjustments on various standard gauges or equipment.
• Record routine data and count parts as directed.
• Training new employees and other inspectors/operators as required.
• Responsible for excellent housekeeping and maintaining 5S in all areas.
• Meet the skill requirements identified in the applicable training matrix and required certificate(s).
