Job summary

Schaeffler Aerospace Canada Inc. is seeking a CNC Grinder/Operator to set up and run CNC grinding and limited CNC lathe operations in a fast-paced, climate-controlled facility.

You will ensure products meet dimensional and quality standards while following standard work and production instructions. The role requires Grade 12 and hands-on experience with grinding setups, reading prints, and performing routine inspections.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma required.
• Experience as Grinding Set Up Operator or equivalent machining background.
• Ability to read and interpret production prints.
• Follow standard work instructions and maintain 5S housekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a minimum of one CNC grinding production process performing single, multi-function and multi-sequencing operations on a universal grinding machine.
• Set up and operate a minimum of one CNC lathe production process (pertinent only to Large Cell).
• Follow standard work instructions and work specifications.
• Perform problem solving and troubleshoot to resolve production/process issues to meet required standards.
• Responsible for quality and quantity of work produced by process; monitor production per maintenance schedule and perform routine maintenance.
• Inspect own work using precision measuring equipment and document results.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a minimum of one CNC grinding production process performing single, multi-function and multi-sequencing operations on a universal grinding machine, which may include chucking and shoe work holding methods
• Set up and operate a minimum of one CNC lathe production process (pertinent only to Large Cell)
• Follow standard work instructions and work specifications
• Perform problem solving and troubleshoot to resolve production/process issues to meet required standards.
• Responsible for quality and quantity of work produced by process. Monitor production process according to maintenance schedule and perform routine maintenance in timely manner.
• Required to perform inspection of own work using precision measuring equipment as provided or directed to assess quality of work.
• Follow and accurately record data as directed or required in routers, IMS and any other production tracking systems.
• Required to train other operators as needed.
• May be required to work in other departments or occasionally to set up a machine for others to operate.
• Ability to read and interpret production prints.
• Requires adequate computer skills to access production procedures to perform the required work.
• Responsible for excellent housekeeping and maintaining 5S in all areas.
• Meet the skill requirements identified in the applicable training matrix and maintain certification through company Certified Operator Program.

Your Qualifications

Education: Grade 12 diploma

Experience:

• Have demonstrated competency as Grinding Set Up Operator or equivalent machining background.
