POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for managing the quality control team and monitoring the effectiveness of the QMS at the plant level, supporting multiple plants as assigned. This role involves coordinating activities for team members involved in testing and inspection of materials and in-process products, as well as auditing processes against internal and external standards. The incumbent will provide leadership to ensure systematic monitoring of quality regulations for products, processes, and employees, aiming for optimal results with minimal waste and process input.

DUTIES:
  • Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with safety rules and regulations, fostering a safety culture.
  • Ensure equipment and processes operate efficiently and safely.
  • Support the generation of HAA and SOP documentation.
  • Promote health and safety awareness among workers and others at the work site.
  • Provide direction on task prioritization based on production plans.
  • Identify and remove roadblocks for the team and individuals.
  • Manage hiring and onboarding of core team members.
  • Mentor, coach, and supervise quality control team members.
  • Collaborate with the System Quality Assurance team and other departments to update technical inspection and testing instructions, checklists, and SOPs.
  • Support the implementation of Quality Assurance initiatives at the plant.
  • Assist in implementing and auditing the QMS elements.
  • Support investigations of non-conformance and incidents, including Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions across multiple facilities.
  • Provide periodic FTQ performance reports and update DMP boards.
  • Track and report on Quality KPIs using statistical analysis during reviews.
  • Manage NCRs and CAPA processes.
  • Perform process audits (shell test, final test, shipping, etc.).
  • Support external audits (UL, NSF, CSA) and address related queries.
  • Submit samples for UL and NSF testing annually.
  • Maintain and update inspection test plans for all ETO tanks.
  • Manage the equipment calibration program.
  • Identify and communicate quality issues in daily production to minimize or eliminate nonconformities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on customer complaints and field service issues.
  • Develop and update SOPs and other technical documents.
  • Perform first article inspections for new supplier qualifications.
  • Collaborate on ongoing projects with engineering, sales, procurement, drafting, production, and field service teams.
  • Provide support to other Tank plants as needed.
  • Design and propose projects related to quality, including performance and cost justifications.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings and collaborations.
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in quality assurance or manufacturing.
  • Experience managing large teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems.
  • Ability to motivate and engage employees.
  • Proficiency in writing detailed work instructions and SOPs.
  • Training in ISO9001 and quality system audits.
  • Strong quality expertise and commitment to cultivating a quality culture.
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills.
  • Knowledge of quality principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Results-oriented with analytical and training skills.
  • ISO9001 Auditing Certification and Greenbelt Six Sigma Certification are preferred.
