Job Description
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Manager or designate, the Quality Program Coordinator (Coordinator) provides expert coordination of Quality initiatives in support of Island Health's Quality Strategy. The Coordinator has responsibility for continually improving program processes that result in team ability to provide timely and best-fit, needs-based resources and information to stakeholders. The Coordinator is also responsible for ensuring a system for tracking, analyzing and reporting on Quality Program activities, including compliance with Accreditation Canada standards and Required Organizational Practices, and identifying opportunities for improvement for the organization.
The Coordinator supports clinical and corporate stakeholders by offering educational approaches or connecting them to resources that ensures their ability to use best practice improvement knowledge, skills, tools and resources. The Coordinator offers coaching support to ensure that stakeholders align their quality plan to:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a relevant human services discipline and three (3) years' related experience in coordinating complex service delivery initiatives.
