Job summary

AAA Canada is seeking a Quality Operations Supervisor in Mirabel to lead the Quality Inspectors and ensure all aerospace structures meet engineering requirements, customer specifications, and quality standards.

You will manage non-conformities, calibration, and corrective actions while driving Lean/5S improvements and collaborating with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance to optimize processes and ensure safe, reliable aerospace components.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant QA experience in aerospace.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong reading of technical drawings and complex schematics.
• Solid knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS/EN 9100).
• Experience with SAP and PLM is an asset.
• Proficient in English and French, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements within your team.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of Quality Inspectors within your area.
• Ensure all aerospace structures meet engineering requirements and customer specs.
• Manage non-conformities, initiate corrective and preventive actions, and follow up.
• Ensure calibration of measurement and inspection tools used by your team and Production.
• Develop and implement inspection plans and quality procedures.
• Train and mentor team members in procedures and skills improvement.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering and Maintenance to resolve quality issues.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, etc.).
• Prepare and present quality performance reports.

Job Description

• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements within your team.

• Ensure all work performed on aerospace structures complies with Engineering requirements, customer specifications, and Quality standards.
• Manage non-conformities, initiate corrective and preventive actions, and ensure proper follow-up.
• Ensure that all measurement and inspection tools used by your team and Production are calibrated and compliant.
• Participate in the development and implementation of inspection plans and quality procedures.
• Train and mentor team members in applying procedures and improving their skills.
• Collaborate closely with the Production, Engineering, and Maintenance departments to resolve quality issues and optimize processes.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, etc.).
• Prepare and present quality performance reports.

Your Profile:

• DEC in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Aerospace Manufacturing, or an equivalent field.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a Certificate in Quality Management.
• Relevant experience in a similar role.

Specific Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant Quality Assurance experience in the aerospace industry, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Proven experience inspecting aerospace structures.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and complex structural/mechanical schematics.
• Solid knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS/EN 9100, etc.).
• Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP) and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) is considered an asset.
• Proficiency in technical English (written and reading) and French (spoken and written).
• Knowledge of root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
