Job description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

As a member of the Quality Team, the Quality Manager reports to the Assistant General Manager, Engineering, and is responsible for the internal aspects of the quality system. Work must be done in a safe and efficient manner and comply with all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and quality systems. Working knowledge of SPS, 6S/5S, and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Involvement with investigations.
  2. Manage customer communication for any quality-related issues.
  3. Lead quality improvements in the plant.
  4. Develop root cause analysis methodologies using CPK, 5 Whys, Ishikawa diagrams, and PDCA cycle.
  5. Manage production floor issues.
  6. Create and maintain quality control processes for automotive manufacturing.
  7. Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
  8. Manage all internal and external audits, including LPA and process control plan audits.
  9. Oversee CQI-9 and other special audits.
  10. Maintain the quality manual, and write or update procedures as required.
  11. Supervise QA inspectors.
  12. Stay up-to-date with the latest quality control tools, techniques, and standards in the automotive industry.
  13. Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety Systems.
  14. Adhere to the company’s Quality and EHS Policies and Procedures, including IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 17025.
  15. Perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in quality management, engineering, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in quality assurance within the automotive industry.
  3. Good mathematical and analytical skills.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills; able to work well independently or in a team environment.
  6. Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
  7. Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and multitask.
  8. Demonstrated flexibility in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
  9. Ability to work indoors; environment can be noisy and involve dealing with different temperatures (e.g., extreme heat).
  10. Ability to lift a maximum of 30 lbs.
  11. Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  12. Willingness to work overtime when required.

TECHNICAL & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Strong communication skills and high motivation.
  2. Organized, clear technical report writing skills.
