An exciting opportunity exists at Mainroad Alberta Contracting LP for a self-motivated individual to join our team as our Quality Manager. This position is responsible for managing the quality team and ensuring compliance with ISO and contract standards. It is a full-time salary position based out of our office in Red Deer or Ponoka, AB, reporting to the Corporate Quality Manager.

Mainroad Alberta Contracting was awarded two highway maintenance contracts by the Government of Alberta Transportation in August 2019. The maintenance contract covers 4,600 kilometres of provincial highways in the counties of Lacombe, Ponoka, Red Deer, and Wetaskiwin, known as Alberta Transportation Contract Maintenance Areas 515 and 516. Mainroad Alberta Contracting operates yards in Winfield, Ponoka, Red Deer, and Innisfail. What you bring :
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Business Administration, Construction / Project Management, or an equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Experience in quality control/management, contract interpretation, data analytics, field auditing, and report writing in highway maintenance, construction, natural resources, or a related industry.
- At least 5 years of management or leadership experience in a relevant field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Power BI, Access, GIS is a plus.
- Training and certification in ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
- Valid COR Internal Auditor Certificate is preferred.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract.
- Leadership skills, ability to foster teamwork, and build relationships with clients, government, management, and staff.
- Mentoring, coaching, and strong communication skills.
- Attention to detail and experience working in high-traffic, harsh winter conditions.
- Ability to develop staff training programs and promote a safety culture.
- Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
Key Responsibilities :
- Managing monthly field audits across a 4,600 km road network to ensure contract compliance.
- Overseeing process and system audits related to quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Collaborating with operations to recommend improvements.
- Interacting with government representatives and field inspectors.
- Reporting audit results internally and to the government.
- Leading internal and external meetings.
- Managing non-conformities, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Maintaining quality management plans and developing staff training programs.
- Ensuring departments are equipped and trained for compliance.
- Scheduling quality control & assurance inspections.
- Developing app-based forms and managing data flow and reporting.
- Monitoring systems to identify and respond to non-conforming products or services.
