Quality Inspector - Water Infrastructure

Location: Edmonton, AB, CA, T6E 6V3

About the Role

Reporting to the Quality Director, the Quality Inspector provides technical support to project staff and conducts quality inspections according to construction codes. The role requires familiarity with construction processes, quality management systems, inspection techniques, and nondestructive examination methods. The inspector ensures compliance with Graham's Quality Control Manual(s) and supports the water division, focusing on civil, concrete, and structural work.

Responsibilities
  • Perform critical inspections across multiple projects
  • Train staff for non-critical inspections and quality system implementation
  • Ensure trades are certified for their scope of work
  • Conduct pre-installation meetings with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Implement and update the Project Specific Quality Plan (PSQP) and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Conduct site inspections as per ITPs
  • Review quality documents submitted by subcontractors
  • Coordinate testing with independent agencies
  • Manage Deficiency and Non-Conformance processes
  • Issue or review Surveillance Reports and NCRs
  • Utilize InEight Completions tool
  • Orient new trades on quality standards
  • Assist with bid preparation and tender assessments
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education, trade certification, or equivalent experience
  • At least 4 years of relevant industry experience
  • Knowledge of Alberta and Edmonton infrastructure requirements
  • CWB Level 1 certification (asset)
  • Certification per construction codes or client specs
  • Construction experience in a quality role
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
Working Conditions
  • Work primarily on job sites, in trailers or structures, with PPE required due to changing conditions
