Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and includes services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.
SUMMARY
The Quality Control Entry Level Inspector will be responsible for performing duties to support the quality department, including reporting, filing, record keeping, inspections, and more.
Location: Edmonton Fabrication Shop
JOB DUTIES
- Assist QA/QC team in maintaining job files
- Compile reports from internal quality management system
- Ensure inspection documentation is completed within designated timeline
- Facilitate the timely compilation of turnover packages to meet Client-specified schedule
- Input quality data into database
- Monitor statistical data and assist the QC Inspectors in maintaining project NDE percentage and test requirements
- Assist in the generation of NDE Requests and coordinate with NDE service provider in arranging NDE Services
- Assist in the maintenance of Welder qualification database and test/retest schedules
- Compile and archive documentation
- File manual and electronic material as required
- Perform and report visual inspections as outlined in the WD & prepare clear and accurate reports
- Assist other Inspectors during their duties
- Perform and report dimensional control inspections and reporting as required in the WD
- Perform and record material verification as required
- Learn quality obligations, standards, procedures, specifications, and tolerances for all work in process
- Perform and report on all incoming inspection of materials received as required by the Quality Assurance System and WDITP
- Participate in the investigation of non-conformances and corrective action resolution as required
- Upon completion of inspections, advise production personnel of results
- Build effective relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support core company values
- Actively participate in company safety procedures and programs, correct unsafe work practices and situations, follow reporting protocols for any violations, and participate in the Hazard identification process
- Various other duties as requested by management
QUALIFICATIONS
- CWB welding inspector qualifications – CSA W178.2 Level 1 is an asset but not required
- Understanding of all N.D.E processes used in the industry
- Understanding of pressure piping code, and regulatory requirements
- Diploma in Welding Engineering Technology or Materials Engineering Technology is an asset
