Here's how a Nuclear Quality Manager for our Edmonton office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities
  1. Lead and manage all nuclear quality activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  2. Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems and procedures.
  3. Provide technical guidance and support to procurement staff, engineering teams, consultants, and suppliers.
  4. Identify, resolve, and prevent quality issues across departments.
  5. Monitor and enhance quality performance to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  6. Ensure compliance with all quality program manuals, procedures, and forms.
  7. Develop and deliver training to staff on quality policies and procedures.
  8. Assist in developing and implementing corrective actions for non-conformances.
  9. Help develop and implement project-specific procedures and work instructions.
  10. Coach, mentor, and manage direct reports to ensure productivity and engagement.
  11. Prioritize tasks and provide leadership to team members.
  12. Act as the primary customer quality contact.
  13. Collaborate across departments to foster a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  14. Lead cross-functional teams to integrate quality initiatives seamlessly.
  15. Act independently with limited supervision.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of supervisory and leadership experience in quality assurance/quality control and/or the heavy industrial construction industry (preferred).
  • Strong background in nuclear quality assurance and knowledge of nuclear codes and standards.
  • Experience in nuclear and non-nuclear fabrication/construction industries is an asset.
  • Relevant education and certifications in quality or nuclear fields.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing regulations and environments.
  • Strategic, results-oriented thinker capable of managing complex, confidential issues.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and drive high-performance teams.
  • High ethical standards and professionalism.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of quality, innovation, safety, and teamwork.
  • Demonstrated success in quality management roles, especially in the nuclear sector.
