Job summary

Linamar Corporation in Ontario is seeking a Quality Inspector - Level 1 to uphold quality standards by inspecting parts, monitoring in-process production, and approving finished products to meet drawing and customer requirements.

You will use gauges and CMM, read blueprints with GD&T, record results, and collaborate with other departments to prevent defects and ensure compliance across the production process.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year experience in automotive manufacturing or equivalent education.
• Knowledge and ability to use measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, height and bore gauges).
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T symbols; proficiency with SPC concepts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of parts using gauging or measuring equipment to ensure they align with customer standards across processes.
• Receiving inspections: assess incoming material against product specs.
• In-process inspections: monitor production to ensure ongoing quality.
• First-off inspections: verify part specs before full production.
• Product audits: perform complete layout of features against drawings.
• Final release inspections: evaluate parts and authorize shipment; report deviations.
