Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Lean Green Belt, Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certificate required.
  • 3-5 years clinical experience in healthcare preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience in quality improvement/project management in healthcare preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to prioritize work.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and coaches programs in priorities and improvement plans using facilitation, data analysis, stakeholder engagement and best practices.
  • Guides and monitors quality improvement projects and their sustainability.
  • Provides tools and training to build project management capacity in teams.
  • Coordinates education, mentoring, and coaching on quality improvement methodologies.
  • Consults as a quality and process improvement resource for the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for individuals who embrace the opportunity to contribute to the evolution and implementation of our continuous improvement system through the utilization of skills and attributes associated with the fields of quality improvement and project management in an integrated manner.

Reporting to the Manager, Quality Improvement & Patient Safety you will guide, lead, implement and monitor quality improvement and project management. Working closely with clinical leadership, and interprofessional teams, you will be tasked with leading and supporting quality/process improvement projects aligned to Lakeridge Health's strategic directions, Annual Business Plan, clinical program priorities and the progression of Lakeridge Health's goal of achieving Whole System Quality.

In your role as a Quality Improvement Leader you are strategically oriented in your efforts to shift culture and status quo while producing tangible deliverables. Your background has allowed you to develop a strong knowledge of operational excellence methods augmented with your ability to develop yourself and others in all project and improvement assignments. You utilize and role model communication and change management excellence in the delivery of goals and objectives. Your reliance on and expertise with structured approaches to improvement and project management is essential. Being driven by key performance indicators, scope, cost and schedule management, along with deployment monitoring and reporting, positions you as a valued resource.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leads, supports and, coaches programs/teams in the development of program priorities and improvement plans utilizing a combination of facilitation, research, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, environmental scanning, evidence based best practices and gap analysis;
  • Guides, leads, implements and monitors quality improvement projects, activities, tracks status, and acts as a knowledge expert and resource in the sustainability and operationalization of improvements;
  • Provides project tools, resources and training to aid in development of project management capacity and skills amongst interprofessional teams and leaders;
  • Coordinates the delivery of assigned education, mentoring and coaching in support of quality improvement methodologies;
  • Consults as a quality and process improvement knowledge expert and resource; and,
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors degree (required, clinical Healthcare, Business Administration, Health Administration, Engineering, or other equivalent, and/or Masters preferred);
  • Lean Green Belt, Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent Quality Improvement certificate (required);
  • Regulated Health Professional with a minimum of 3-5 years clinical experience (preferred);
  • 3-5 years recent experience related to quality improvement and/or project management in a heath care service environment (preferred);
  • Proven leadership skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively train, coach, and mentor teams and leaders;
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate project teams and improvement initiatives;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (presentation, written and verbal), critical thinking, attention to detail and problem-solving skills;
  • Experience working with large, multisite organization;
  • Proven ability to act as a resource to various health professionals, such front-line staff, managers, physicians, and directors;
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to collect, analyze, share and interpret qualitative and quantitative data;
  • High proficiency with the Microsoft Office 365 suite;
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices;
