As a Quality Inspector working in the Building Operations team at Pomerleau Construction, you will play a pivotal role in guaranteeing the integrity, safety, and precision of our job sites. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion – you will have the opportunity to assess every aspect of our projects, from workmanship to materials, contributing to the successful delivery of exceptional results that exceed project expectations.
What You Will Do
- Planning, documentation, procurement, and approval
- Complete the project Quality Plan
- Complete the quality risk matrix
- Complete the quality organization chart in connection with the project organization chart
- Complete roles & responsibilities
- Develop PIEs according to contractual documents, specifications, technical documents, and codes
- Participate in the internal start-up meeting and present the quality requirements and issues
- QA/QC, NC management
- Support the application of Pomerleau quality management and project-specific PQ
- Receipt of materials: Identify inspections and prepare material delivery plans
- Implement quality training for all project staff
- Setting up project-specific RIEs/LVs and PIEs in Procore
- Carry out and coordinate inspections with the various stakeholders required in accordance with the PIE;
- Complete quality records and ensure follow-up;
- Coordinate inspections and testing on site
- Carry out inspections (including inspections upon receipt of materials)
- Ensure the follow-up of inspections on the site (RIE-Report-inspection files) are complete and closed
- Ensure supply monitoring (factory manufacturing)
- Monitoring annotations and changes on plans (Red Marks)
- Ensure that the surveyor maintains the as-built details of the project (buried or concealed elements).
- Check the application of technical changes transmitted by professionals to the site;
- Verify that teams are working with the latest revisions of contract documents.
- Verify that work has been completed in accordance with project requirements
- Ensure that subcontractors are responsible for compliance with Pomerleau quality management
- Complete and manage the equipment calibration log
- Create, update, and complete Observations and NC
- Identify quality-related issues
- Open and write a NC when required and propose the necessary actions in collaboration with the superintendent
- Participate in follow-up meetings (10-50-80%)
- Deficiencies and closure
- Closure of observations, creation of the list of deficiencies, and coordination with subcontractors
- Monitoring of deficiencies and closing the list of deficiencies
- Quality System
- Guardian of project management processes on his site
- Preparation and support of the team for internal and external audits of the registrar.
This role could be for you if you have
- 5+ years of experience working as a Quality Inspector in the construction industry, ideally on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Great understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes/materials.
- A passion for document management, detailed reporting, and organized information.
- A strong mind but also the physical ability to conduct on-site inspections.
- The ability to obtain a security level clearance with the Government of Canada.
Additional Assets Include:
- Some familiarity with mechanical systems or multidisciplinary environments.

Salary and Benefits
The expected salary range for this opportunity is $97,000 - $120,000. Salaries may vary depending on experience and location. Compensation is exclusive of bonus and in addition to our extensive employee benefits program. Benefits availability may vary based on the role.
