A leading company in the software engineering sector is seeking a Quality Manager in Toronto. This role involves leading a team responsible for enhancing quality processes and standards across scrum teams. Candidates should have strong QA experience, particularly in cloud environments, and demonstrate leadership in a SaaS setting. We are seeking a Quality Manager to join our Software Engineering team.
As a leader within Quality Software Engineering team, you will:
• Lead and manage a team responsible for implementing a performance test and quality framework.
• Own the quality processes, tools, and frameworks that will be used by all scrum teams.
• Drive quality standards and procedures across all scrum teams.
• Monitor and analyze key quality metrics to track product performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Work closely with product development, engineering, and operations teams to ensure that quality standards are integrated into the product lifecycle.
• Oversee the planning and execution of audits, inspections, and tests to evaluate product quality.
• Develop and maintain quality documentation, including test plans, reports, and defect tracking records.
• Establish and maintain a strong communication channel with other departments to ensure quality expectations are met throughout the SDLC process.
• Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Provide leadership, training, and development opportunities to teams to enhance skills and performance.
• Adhere to the agile software development life cycle best practices and governance.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
• Experience with cloud-based QA tools and testing in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure)
• Experience with performance testing and monitoring tools (Example: JMeter, LoadRunner).
• Experience with test management tools such as Xray or TestRail.
• Familiarity with database testing and data management tools (SQL, ElasticSearch, MongoDB, Kafka).
• Hands on experience developing and maintaining test automation suites using tools such as Playwright
• Ability to drive quality processes across scrum teams.
• Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and quality control processes.
• Familiarity with tools such as Jenkins or Git for continuous integration/continuous testing.
• Experience with mobile app testing (iOS/Android).
• Experience in using statistical analysis and quality control tools
• Experience with release/deployment processes.
• Results-oriented self-starter in need of limited or no supervision
• Hands-on experience with either Microsoft Azure or AWS.
Leadership Qualifications:
• Experience in a team leadership role
• Strong remote team leadership and collaboration qualities. Ability to work independently and across many time zones.
• Proven track record of mentoring and holding employees accountable
• Be well organized with good delegation skills.
Education and experience:
• BS/MS Engineering degree or equivalent
• 5 - 7 years of experience leading software quality initiatives in a SaaS environment

Pay range: $106,000 - $132,000. Actual base pay will depend on varying circumstances, including the position, location, individual qualifications, market finances, and other operations business needs.
Depending on the position, compensation may also include commission, bonuses, etc. Potential for bonuses is based on company performance and potential for merit increases is based on performance.
