Job summary

Promation, based in Oakville, Ontario, is seeking a Quality Control Inspector – Level 1 to join our manufacturing team. This role conducts inspections, supports testing, and maintains quality records to ensure compliance with our standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 2–5 years of experience in quality inspection, familiar with GD&T, inspection tools, and reading drawings. We offer competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; 2–5 years in quality inspection, testing, or manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with inspection tools and measurement equipment; basic GD&T knowledge.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; able to work in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections per inspection plans and requirements.
  • Assist with dimensional inspections and verification activities.
  • Review and accept raw materials and special process results (e.g., welding, coatings, NDE).
  • Witness and support testing activities (FAT, ATP, etc.).
  • Develop Manufacturing Inspection & Test Plans (MITPs) and Inspection Test Checklists (ITCs).
  • Prepare and maintain quality documentation and history files.
  • Monitor procurement activities to ensure QA compliance.
  • Initiate and follow up on non-conformance and corrective action reports.

Role Description

Promation is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector – Level 1 to join our dynamic team. This role involves conducting inspections, supporting testing activities, preparing documentation, and working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Core Duties & Responsibilities
Quality Inspection & Testing
  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections in accordance with inspection plans and requirements
  • Assist with dimensional inspections and verification activities
  • Review and accept raw materials and special process results (e.g., welding, coatings, NDE)
  • Witness and support testing activities (FAT, ATP, etc.)
Documentation & Quality Systems
  • Develop Manufacturing Inspection & Test Plans (MITPs) and Inspection Test Checklists (ITCs)
  • Prepare and maintain quality documentation and history files
  • Process and verify quality records to ensure compliance with company standards
Supplier & Process Quality
  • Monitor procurement activities to ensure QA compliance
  • Initiate and follow up on non-conformance and corrective action reports
  • Provide guidance to employees and suppliers on QA policies and expectations
  • Support a culture of quality and continuous improvement
  • Participate in training and professional development activities
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma (minimum)
  • 2\u20135 years of experience in quality inspection, testing, or manufacturing environments
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T, machining, and welding inspection techniques
  • Familiarity with inspection tools and measurement equipment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Salary range: $58,000 – $67,000
