Engineered Lifting Systems & Equipment Inc, dba Gorbel Canada, is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure incoming materials and in-process items meet specifications. You will read blueprints, operate measurement tools, and report non-conformances to the Quality Manager.
This role supports process improvements, data entry in the ERP system (Syteline), and adherence to ISO 9000 standards. Travel to off-site meetings may be required; safety and housekeeping are part of daily responsibilities.

Work Shift: Job Description: The Quality Inspector will inspect materials when received and/or in the production process, and ensure they meet specifications. They will report non-conformances, backtrack all products/inventory to establish clean points, fix non-conformances (where possible) and re‑train employees on proper processes. This position will also give advice to improve current processes, standards, and part selection to eliminate or reduce non-conformances. The Quality Inspector will report to the Quality Manager and work with other areas of the Production department and throughout the organization.
Inspect and approve incoming materials, in-process production, and outgoing finished product by reviewing specifications, reading blueprints, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting/returning unacceptable materials by following the ELS/DT quality process. Reads and reviews specifications, blueprint drawings and interprets information on job orders. Identify and document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re‑work and waste, and inputting data into the quality database. Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, and calling for repairs. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with safety and legal regulations. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications. When appropriate, reject defective items outright, send them for repair, or fix minor problems at the time. Document and place parts or finished product in inventory that pass inspection. Support the Quality Manager in the preparation and modification of test plans to meet the quality mission Segregate non-conforming materials and follow up on Non‑Conforming Reports (NCRs) as required. Communicate non-conformances to the Quality Manager, as well as leaders in Production and Purchasing. Follow up on documentation to ensure vendors were contacted by internal peers, when required. Support the Quality Manager in preparing vendor quality ratings with Purchasing team. Confer with the DT production and marketing team to follow‑up on corrective actions. Provide suggestions for continuous improvements to the ERP system (Syteline). Understands BOM structures and routings. Supports other DT assembly departments. Work in conjunction with all the organization’s policies and procedures and complete work as assigned to the best of your abilities.
High School diploma, GED or equivalent required. College Diploma in relevant field. Willing to consider a combination of previous experience and demonstrated ongoing professional development opportunities. 2+ years’ experience in a quality inspector/assurance position, preferred Experience in Microsoft Office, preferred Experience with an ERP system (Syteline), preferred. Knowledge of ISO 9000 or Z299 quality environments, preferred. Able to follow information on job orders, preferred. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and understanding of technical data, preferred. Knowledge of fabrication and machining processes, an asset. Ability to read a tape measure. Experience with measuring devices such as meters, rulers, gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

Works in office and manufacturing facility with flexibility for travel to off‑site meetings Usually works a standard forty‑four (44) hour work week May be required to work some overtime hours to attend meetings or meet organizational needs May experience tight deadlines and stressful conditions at times Must be able to manage frequent interruptions and multiple tasks daily Ability to move around factory workstations, and lift 25 to 50 pounds, walking and stairs Sitting, working at desk/personal computer for extended periods.
Hourly Range: $19.44 - $32.40
