Job summary

Promation in Oakville, Ontario is seeking a Manufacturing Technologist to bridge engineering and production. You will ensure parts are manufacturable, optimize processes, and deliver projects on time and to high quality standards.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings for manufacturability, developing manufacturing plans, sourcing subcontractors, and coordinating with QA. A mechanically oriented candidate with ERP experience is ideal for this role.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, machining, or welding environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and production planning.

  • Review engineering drawings for manufacturability across machining, fabrication, welding, and finishing.
  • Develop detailed manufacturing plans and process flows.
  • Decide whether work should be done in-house or subcontracted.
  • Source and evaluate subcontractors, obtain and review quotes.
  • Create technical purchase requests and support procurement.
  • Coordinate with QA to release drawings and ensure compliance.
  • Act as technical liaison between vendors and internal teams.
  • Oversee subcontracting logistics (shipping, receiving, timelines).
  • Manage non-conformances and support resolution of manufacturing issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and project teams to solve challenges.

Role Description

We’re looking for a Manufacturing Technologist to join our fast-paced, project-driven environment. In this role, you will bridge engineering and manufacturing - ensuring parts are manufacturable, processes are optimized, and projects are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review engineering drawings to ensure manufacturability across machining, fabrication, welding, and finishing

Qualifications

Salary Range: $78,000-$83,000
