Irving Oil is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to support the operations at the Saint John Refinery. The role involves auditing, maintaining quality assurance programs, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. As a Quality Assurance Day-to-Day Inspector with our Asset Integrity Team, you will play a key role in the operations of our Saint John Refinery. The quality assurance activities that you perform support continuous improvement of asset integrity programs.Your goal will be to work independently with minimal supervision as you conduct and manage ongoing quality assurance activities throughout the facility. You will also be responsible for interfacing with the asset integrity teams and local jurisdiction on a regular basis.

Your Responsibilities:
Review company, departmental, and industry inspection procedures, and audit standards and procedures to ensure they are being implemented. Maintain reporting and record keeping, and ensure database is kept to date
Provide quality insurance coverage for Major and Maintenance projects, as required
Perform audits and document findings in accordance with fabricator/contractor Quality Manual and audit schedule, including warehouse receiving, purchasing, fabrication shops, and other areas as required
Execute audits based in internal procedures and processes determined by Asset Integrity programs
Provide quality assurance leadership and support mechanical contractor Quality Control and Maintenance Groups
Works with Asset Integrity Execution Lead, RBI Lead, and Turnaround Lead to develop resources requirements and strategy to ensure compliance of Quality Assurance programs
Responsible for the review and approve of mechanical contractor inspection and test plans
Ensures fabrication, repair, maintenance contractors Quality Control programs are compliant and acceptable. This may be accomplished through documentation reviews, audits or site visits
Maintain, track and assist in disposition resolution to all Non-Conforming Reports (NCR’s both IOR and Contractor)
Perform documented audits in accordance with the Irving Oil Quality Manual and audit schedule
Support IOMS from a Quality Assurance perspective

Strong knowledge of all types of fixed equipment, piping and associated fabrication, repair, inspection techniques and practices
Strong and proven knowledge of welding technical and practical
Development of Inspection Test Plans
Strong knowledge of Company Standards, Industry Recommended Practices, Codes and Standards and specific computer applications
Experience performing documented audits while maintaining accurate reporting and record keeping
Experience with Meridium Asset History database considered an asset
Able to work in the field: this includes working in year-round weather conditions, able to bend, climb, stoop, kneel, crawl, etc. and able toliftto 20lbs.You must be comfortable with high elevation climbing, working at heights, and in enclosed spaces. You must be able to wear full PPE as required by safety standards

Your Experience:
Post-secondary education in Welding Technology or Quality Assurance Engineer
3+ years of experience in Inspection or Asset Integrity
Possess a CWB level 2 or 3 (Canadian Welding Bureau) and working towards a certification such as API 510 or 570 (American Petroleum Institute) codes, AWS (American Welding Society), CGSB (Canadian General Standards Board), and/or NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers)
