Job description

Summary:
If you value ethics, love finding creative solutions, and have a passion for compliance, then this is the job for you! Reporting to the Quality Manager, the ideal candidate will be committed to customer service excellence and leads by example.

Job Duties:
  • Ensuring timely review, follow-up, and approval of documents, and product batch-related records.
  • Review and approve batch records and Certificates of Analysis ensuring that product meets quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in investigation of deviations, product incidents and complaints, ensuring that all investigations are thorough, complete, identify root cause, and have appropriate CAPAs assigned.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of QA documentation, adhering to Good Documentation Practices on all applicable documents related to GPP.
  • Prepare and Review SOPs and WIs to ensure continuous compliance.
  • Responsible for oversight and control of non-conforming product - suspect lab results, processing issues, etc.
  • Utilize systems including ERP, Laboratories portals and QMS for day-to-day functions.
  • Work in a team environment to ensure all Quality job functions are covered.
  • Support QA Technicians on their sampling and on the Laboratory submissions.
  • Track and report performance indicators.
  • Train personnel.
  • Ensure that all staff are always adhering to facility SOPs and GPP.
  • Assist with the maintenance of QA monitoring programs, including audits, controls, and other qualifiers.
  • Assist with the analysis, verification, validation activities, and formal design reviews, as applicable.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of work experience in a quality assurance role in pharmaceutical, food, or related industry.
  • University degree in science or related discipline (chemistry, biology, pharmacology).
  • Knowledge of Cannabis Regulations/SOR-2018-144 and other regulatory requirements is an asset.
  • Experience with an organization regulated by HACCP or experience in a similarly regulated environment (GMP, GAP, GPP).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow strict operating procedures.
  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt to new technology.
  • Dedication to safety measures and best practices.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

Your Environment:
  • Overtime as required.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Must be able to achieve or have achieved a security clearance as defined under the Cannabis Act.

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year.
