The job involves:

• Ensuring that the system operates correctly, data integrity is maintained, and it meets user requirements.
• Creating and maintaining test plans to ensure comprehensive testing according to system specifications.
• Writing test documents and performing testing to ensure reliable and stable application systems.
• Working with approved business partners and pre-release end-users to ensure error-free releases.
• Identifying potential problems with application software systems using sound judgment with minimal supervision.
• Anticipating potential software issues by creating exhaustive test scenarios.
• Collaborating with project teams (programmers, infrastructure specialists, operations, consultants, project managers) to satisfy system requirements.
• Maintaining exceptional organizational skills, being structured and detail-oriented.
• Working safely and in compliance with OH&S policies and legislation.
• Supporting a 24/7 operation with flexibility.

The ideal candidate has:

• Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience, with keen analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Technical knowledge of current operating systems and standards.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• A university or college degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is an asset.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a large IT organization, with 3–5 years as a QA/Testing Analyst.
