Job description

This role requires an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to lead and execute all aspects of software testing. The successful candidate will design testing strategies, develop and execute test plans and scripts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle. Responsibilities include a wide range of testing types (functional, non-functional, performance, security, etc.) across various platforms (desktop, mobile) and technologies. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Remote, United States

Responsibilities :

• Provide expert advice on testing strategy, test planning, tool selection, and resource identification.
• Plan, organize, and manage testing efforts for large systems (GUI and non-GUI).
• Develop and execute test plans, scripts, and cases, documenting results thoroughly.
• Collaborate with project leads and team members throughout all SDLC phases.
• Apply structured methodologies and best practices in QA and software testing.
• Utilize CASE tools, data query tools, automated testing tools, and version control systems.
• Perform various types of testing : functional, non-functional, integration, unit, load, performance, regression, security, and stress testing.
• Support and participate in UAT activities, providing expertise and troubleshooting.
• Create comprehensive testing documentation for technical and business validation.
• Ensure adherence to all phases of the SDLC and accessibility standards (e.g., AODA).
• Configure testing environments and support testing for in-house and COTS solutions.
• Conduct automated test scripting using tools such as Eggplant and Selenium.
• Use defect management and version control tools (e.g., Confluence, JIRA, TestRail).
• Manage multiple assignments concurrently, demonstrating strong consulting and negotiation skills.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of programming languages, information retrieval, object-oriented testing, and information management principles.

Required Skills & Certifications :

• Extensive experience in software testing methodologies and best practices.
• Proficiency in developing and executing test plans, scripts, and cases.
• Experience with various testing types (functional, non-functional, performance, security, etc.).
• Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Eggplant).
• Experience with defect management and version control tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, TestRail).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience working in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Skills & Certifications :

• Experience with desktop, mobile, high-availability, and real-time data applications.
• Familiarity with telephony and radio technologies.
• Experience with specific programming languages (list if applicable from input).
