Job summary

Sundial in Kelowna, BC is seeking a Quality Control Technician I to support GDP, GPP, and Health Canada compliant operations. You will perform in-process checks, review documentation, approve releases, and assist with product sampling in a fast-moving cannabis manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in a scientific or cannabis-related field, familiarity with HACCP, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in a scientific or cannabis-related field.
  • Familiarity with GDP/GPP and Health Canada regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process checks and swabbing to verify cleanliness.
  • Review cleaning records, room activity logs, and scale verifications.
  • Approve room and equipment releases prior to use.
  • Monitor in-process controls and respond to deviations.
  • Sample raw cannabis, packaging labels, and finished products.
  • Inspect documentation for GDP adherence.

About the Role

Exciting Opportunity: Quality Control Technician I

Are you detail-oriented and ready to play a key role in maintaining product safety and compliance? We’re looking for a Quality Control Technician I (QC Tech I) to join our team and help ensure adherence to Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Good Production Practices (GPP), and Health Canada regulations. In this role, you'll perform in-process checks, review documentation, approve room and equipment releases, and support product sampling. If you have a background in science or cannabis, strong analytical skills, and a sharp eye for detail, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Performing surface, equipment, and environmental swabbing to verify cleanliness and compliance
  • Reviewing and approving cleaning records, room activity logs, and scale verifications
  • Approving room and equipment releases prior to use
  • Monitoring in-process controls and responding to deviations
  • Sampling raw cannabis, packaging labels, and finished products
  • Inspecting documentation to ensure adherence to GDP
  • Applying status labels (e.g., Approved, Quarantine, Release)
  • Supporting the Quality Manager with additional tasks as needed
What We’re Looking For
  • 1+ year of experience in a scientific or cannabis-related field
  • Familiarity with safe food handling (HACCP experience is a strong asset)
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent time management, multitasking, and communication skills
