QA Laboratory Systems Analyst
Through its programs and services, LCBO Quality Assurance department supports the organization’s mission of ensuring that products offered to our Ontario customers and B2B clients are authentic, of high quality, safe to consume and compliant with regulations.

Reporting to Senior Manager, Quality Assurance Laboratory, you will provide operational, technical and developmental support to Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and apply your thorough knowledge of Business Analysis and Quality Assurance operations to assist with furthering product Quality Assurance business processes, formulate scope and objectives for department applications’ system development, improvement, and maintenance. Supporting the entire business of Quality Assurance department, you will also prepare system documentation and detailed specifications from which application programs will be sourced or enhanced, and coordinate with IT, to plan, execute, communicate and assist with various system implementations. You will use your superior talent in Business Intelligence to evaluate effectiveness of departmental business processes to create dashboards, reports and make recommendations for continuous improvements. You will demonstrate leadership, collaborating with multiple team stakeholders to evaluate and enhance processes and deliver results for clients.

About the Role
Configure, support, troubleshoot and maintain LIMS and department application systems, programs and procedures
Assist in preparing and coordinating project plans for technology initiatives, including business case definition and writing
Develop detailed systems test plans, participate in testing, including user acceptance testing; analyze test results to ensure the solution meets the business needs
Map and document business processes. Define, analyze, review, document and communicate functional requirements specific to Quality Assurance needs required to support business process redesign and technology enhancements
Develop, configure, maintain and upgrade departmental performance monitoring tools
Provide specialized data analysis, develop reports that support Quality Assurance functions, make data-driven recommendations for process optimization
Provide technical and analytical advice to the management team. Provide leadership to the systems users; mentor, coach, and transfer knowledge to assist staff to resolve program and procedural problems
Prepare user manuals, technical documentation and user training for existing and new applications, procedures and processes
About You
Post-secondary education in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent business experience
Experience in requirements definition, acquisition, testing, configuration and implementation of LIMS
Relevant work experience in business analysis and process improvement and proven success using analytics, process mapping and analysis, business modelling and statistical analysis to drive change and grow the business
Relevant technical knowledge and expertise in the configuration of computer software, operating systems, and applications acquired through formal education and progressively responsible experience in systems development. Working knowledge of programming languages/coding
Demonstrated understanding of chemical laboratory operations
Demonstrated understanding of Quality Assurance end-to-end Supply Chain operations
Proficiency in the following applications and quality assurance operations:
Laboratory instrumentation integration software
Statistical process control applications (e.g. NorthWest Analytical and/or other)
Compusense and/or other Sensory evaluation applications (e.g. Compusense and/or other)
Experience in effectively using data mining software, such as Qlik Sense, Tableau or Microstrategy
Extensive practical knowledge of Access, Visio, SharePoint, VBA, SQL server databases. Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including sophisticated knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
Strong adaptable interpersonal skills and the ability to translate functional business to technical language. Ability to grasp key drivers and measures of success for the business and integrate the short-term and long-term business strategies into technology solutions and applications integrations
Effective collaboration and negotiation skills, ability to work and lead laterally across multiple groups
Effective communication, both verbally and in report generation (technical writing)
Work independently and effectively under pressure to tight deadlines, be solution-driven and a change champion
