Job summary

Infoya, a global IT solutions provider, is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer in Toronto to strengthen our data and BI validation capabilities. You will design automated tests for database, ETL, and data pipelines, and ensure data accuracy and performance across enterprise platforms.

Qualified candidates will have hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, StarRocks, Tableau, and GCP, plus strong Python/SQL scripting and CI/CD expertise.

About theJob: Infoya is looking for anexperiencedSenior Automation Engineerwith strong expertisein test automation , database testing, ETL validation, and data pipelinetesting. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working withcloud-based data platforms, complex data architectures, and businessintelligence solutions. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring dataaccuracy, integrity, consistency, reliability, and performance acrossenterprise data pipelines and analytical platforms .

Position Responsibilities:

Test Automation (Mandatory)

• Design, develop, and maintain automated testingframeworks for database, ETL, and data pipeline validation.
  
• Develop reusable automated test scripts using Python,SQL, or equivalent technologies.
  
• Automate source-to-target reconciliation, data qualitychecks, schema validation, and regression testing.
  
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  
• Improve test coverage, execution efficiency, andoverall QA productivity through automation
  

Database Testing & Data Validation

• Design and execute comprehensive database testingstrategies for complex enterprise applications.
  
• Perform advanced SQL-based validation, includingcomplex joins, aggregations, stored procedures, and data reconciliation.
  
• Validate data integrity, completeness, accuracy, andconsistency across source and target systems.
  
• Conduct backend testing using PostgreSQL andStarRocks.
  
• Identify data quality issues, transformation defects,and performance bottlenecks.
  
• Validate end-to-end ETL/ELT workflows, including dataextraction, transformation, loading, and reconciliation.
  
• Test batch and streaming data pipelines for accuracy,completeness, and reliability.
  
• Validate transformation rules, data mappings, businesslogic, and aggregation calculations.
  
• Perform incremental load, full load, duplicatedetection, and data consistency testing.
  
• Verify error handling, recovery mechanisms, and datapipeline dependencies.
  
• Work with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to validatecloud-based data processing and storage solutions.
  
• Perform data validation across PostgreSQL, StarRocks,and other enterprise data platforms.
  
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Cloud Engineers, andDevelopers to troubleshoot data-related issues.
  

Business Intelligence & ReportingValidation

• Validate Tableau dashboards, reports, KPIs, andanalytical outputs.
  
• Reconcile dashboard data against underlying databasesand source systems.
  
• Verify business rules, filters, aggregations,calculations, and reporting accuracy.
  
• Ensure consistency between analytical data layers andbusiness reporting.
  

Performance Testing (Good to have knowledge)

• Perform database query performance testing andoptimization validation.
  
• Evaluate ETL pipeline throughput, processing latency,and scalability.
  
• Support load, stress, and volume testing fordata-intensive applications.
  
• Identify performance bottlenecks and collaborate withengineering teams on improvements.
  

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• 5-8 years of experience in Software QualityEngineering, with significant hands-on experience in database and ETLtesting.
  
• Strong experience in developing automated test scriptsand reusable testing frameworks.
  
• Excellent SQL skills with expertise in complexqueries, joins, aggregations, and data validation.
  
• Practical experience with PostgreSQL, StarRocks,Tableau, and GCP.
  
• Knowledge with GCP services such as BigQuery, CloudStorage, Dataflow, or Cloud Composer.
  
• Proven experience validating end-to-end data pipelinesand ETL/ELT processes.
  
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts,dimensional modeling, and data quality principles.
  
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
  
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, andstakeholder collaboration skills.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Performance testing experience for databases andlarge-scale data pipelines.
  
• Familiarity with PyTest, Great Expectations, dbttesting, or similar data quality automation tools.
  
• Experience testing large-volume datasets andnear-real-time data processing.
  
• Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud-native testingpractices.
  

Salary Range: $100,000 to $115,000 CAD/ year

The final compensation offered will depend on local marketconditions and geographic location, as well as job-related factors such as thecandidate’s knowledge, skills, qualifications, relevant experience, andeducation/training. Compensation may also include additional components such asbenefits, and/or other incentives, where applicable.
