Job summary

The role demands hands-on automation leadership, building frameworks from scratch, and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines for faster, reliable releases. Hybrid work 3 days in office.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software testing experience within Agile development teams.
• 7+ years of strong hands-on test automation experience.
• Proven experience leading QA teams or acting in a Lead capacity.
• Expertise in automation tools such as Selenium, WebdriverIO, REST Assured, Postman, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA strategy, planning, and execution across multiple projects and teams.
• Design, develop, and scale robust automation frameworks for UI, API, and end-to-end testing.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to QA engineers, fostering best practices and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and DevOps to ensure testability and quality throughout the SDLC.
• Drive end-to-end automation, including building frameworks from scratch where required.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster releases.
• Oversee test planning, test case design, execution, and defect management.
• Ensure comprehensive coverage across functional, regression, integration (SIT), and UAT testing.
• Work closely with release management and deployment teams to support smooth product releases.
• Establish QA standards, documentation, test architecture, and governance practices.
• Analyze quality metrics and provide insights to stakeholders for continuous improvement.
• Act as a key escalation point for quality risks, defects, and production issues.

We are seeking a Lead QA Automation Engineer to drive the quality strategy, design scalable automation frameworks, and lead a high-performing QA team. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams - including Engineering, Product, and DevOps - to ensure high-quality delivery across modern web, API, and enterprise applications.

Position Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of software testing experience within Agile development teams
• 7+ years of strong hands-on test automation experience
• Proven experience leading QA teams or acting in a Lead capacity
• Expertise in automation tools such as Selenium, WebdriverIO, REST Assured, Postman, or similar
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Demonstrated experience building automation frameworks from scratch
• Hands-on experience with BDD/TDD frameworks (Cucumber, Cypress, Playwright, Webdriver.io, TestNG, etc.)
• Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies and testing types (UI, API, Functional, Regression, SIT, UAT)
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (JIRA, etc.)
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP web testing
• Exposure to performance testing and security testing practices
• Experience in Agile Release Train environments (SAFe) or large-scale delivery programs

Benefits

Salary Range

$100,000 to $110,000 CAD/ year

The final compensation offered will depend on local market conditions and geographic location, as well as job-related factors such as the candidate’s knowledge, skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and education/training. Compensation may also include additional components such as benefits, and/or other incentives, where applicable.
