About the Job

About the Job: We are seeking a Senior Scrum Master with a strong QA and Mobile Testing focus to lead the delivery of complex mobile and digital solutions within a scaled Agile environment. This role combines servant leadership, program delivery oversight, and quality engineering governance to ensure high-quality, on-time releases. The ideal candidate will drive Agile excellence while embedding strong QA practices, automation strategy, and release readiness across cross-functional teams including mobile, API, DevOps, and business stakeholders.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days in office per week)

Position Responsibilities
  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Reviews/Demos, Retrospectives, Backlog Refinement) with a strong emphasis on quality deliverables and Definition of Done adherence.
  • Lead Scrum of Scrums to coordinate QA, mobile engineering, API teams, and DevOps for integrated releases.
  • Proactively identify and remove impediments impacting mobile testing, automation, and release readiness.
  • Coach teams on Agile best practices while embedding a “shift-left” and quality engineering mindset.
  • Ensure sprint commitments include adequate test coverage, regression strategy, and automation scope.
  • Drive end-to-end quality strategy for mobile applications (iOS and Android), including functional, regression, integration, API, performance, and UAT testing.
  • Collaborate with QA engineers to implement automation frameworks (e.g., Appium, Selenium, REST Assured, Postman, etc.).
  • Ensure test automation is integrated into CI/CD pipelines and release gates.
  • Monitor and report on quality metrics such as defect leakage, test coverage, automation coverage, release readiness, and production stability.
  • Support mobile release cycles including App Store/Play Store submissions and compliance validation.
  • Facilitate risk identification related to device fragmentation, OS versions, performance, and security testing.
Program & Delivery Management
  • Develop and maintain project plans, release roadmaps, and quality milestones.
  • Manage cross-team dependencies across mobile, backend APIs, infrastructure, security, and DevOps.
  • Monitor velocity, sprint predictability, defect trends, and financial tracking at program level.
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies for high-impact releases.
  • Apply SDLC governance, DMO best practices, and ensure required artifacts are maintained.
  • Drive release train coordination with a focus on quality gates and production stability.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Management
  • Serve as primary liaison between Business Product Owners, QA teams, Mobile Developers, Architecture, Security, and Infrastructure.
  • Align stakeholders on release readiness, quality metrics, and risk exposure.
  • Provide transparent reporting on sprint progress, QA health, financials, and release confidence.
  • Resolve large-scale impediments affecting multiple teams or mobile delivery streams.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through retrospectives, root cause analysis, and QA process optimization.
Leadership & Coaching
  • Mentor QA engineers, automation leads, and Scrum Masters on Agile quality practices.
  • Promote engineering excellence including TDD, BDD, CI/CD automation, and DevOps collaboration.
  • Facilitate effective technical discussions around APIs, microservices, cloud infrastructure, and mobile architecture.
  • Participate in Agile communities and contribute to evolving quality standards and best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance release predictability and product quality.
Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in Agile environments.
  • Solid knowledge of SDLC, test strategies, defect lifecycle, and release governance.
  • Experience managing cross-functional Agile teams in complex technical environments.
  • Proven experience with Agile metrics, velocity tracking, risk management, and stakeholder reporting.
  • Strong servant leadership, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3+ years working in QA-focused or quality engineering-driven teams.
  • Strong understanding of mobile testing (iOS/Android ecosystems).
  • Experience in retail, POS, or customer-facing mobile applications.
  • Exposure to mobile automation frameworks (Appium, Espresso, XCUITest).
  • API testing experience using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.).
  • Experience in cloud-native and microservices-based environments.
  • SAFe, CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP, or equivalent Agile certifications.
  • Experience in large-scale Agile programs or Release Train environments.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices and quality gates within pipeline automation.

Benefits

Salary Range: $90,000 to $98,000 CAD/ year
