Job summary

Airswift is seeking a QA Auditor for a major Oil & Gas client in Calgary on a 1-year contract. You will plan, coordinate, and execute internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, standards, and company procedures.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of QA/QMS auditing experience in Oil & Gas, Lead Auditor and Lean Six Sigma credentials, and the ability to drive improvement across the business.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of QA/QC auditing experience in Oil & Gas
• Lead Auditor certification in QMS or OHS or EMS
• Knowledge of ISO, CSA, API, ASME and ABSA requirements
• Registered or eligible for registration with APEGA
• Lean Six Sigma certification (Green/Black Belt) preferred

Job description

Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for a QA Auditor to join their team on an 1-year contract in Calgary.

As a QA Auditor, you will conduct internal and external audits to evaluate compliance with regulatory requirements, industry codes and standards, management system expectations, and company requirements. Your ability to identify process gaps, assess risk, and drive continuous improvement will play a key role in strengthening operational excellence across the organization.

Reporting to the Lead, QA Audit/ARP, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing audit activities, as well as supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality and compliance throughout the business.

• Shift schedule: 5 x 2, 8-hour shifts (4-day workweeks in July and August)

Key Accountabilities:

• Plan, schedule, and conduct audit activities in accordance with company's QA auditing principles, practices, and procedures.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with auditees, audit sponsors, technical authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain audit documentation, including audit plans, agendas, checklists, notification letters, criteria, and reference materials.
• Evaluate compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, management system requirements, and company procedures.
• Assess the significance and risk of identified compliance gaps and process deficiencies.
• Document audit findings and prepare Non-Compliance Reports (NCRs), where required.
• Monitor, track, and verify corrective actions to ensure timely closure of audit findings.
• Prepare clear, accurate, and comprehensive audit reports.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, compliance, and operational effectiveness.

What You Bring to the Role:

• Engineering degree (A degree in Mechanical, Material, Welding, or Industrial engineering is preferred); registered or eligible for registration with APEGA.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Project Quality Assurance and/or In-Service Quality Assurance within the Oil and Gas industry.
• Demonstrated experience leading and conducting Quality Management System audits.
• Strong understanding and practical application of industry standards (ISO, CSA, API, ASME, Alberta Safety Codes Act and ABSA requirements).
• Lead Auditor certification in QMS or OHS or EMS (preferably QMS) through a recognized international organization such as IRCA or Exemplar Global.
• Evident knowledge and/or certification in Lean Six Sigma (e.g., Green/Black Belt).
