Job summary

Corus Entertainment, based in Canada, is seeking a Publicity Coordinator to support the Lifestyle PR team. You will contribute to media and influencer strategies for Home Network, Flavour Network, HISTORY, and Slice, handling media monitoring, press materials, influencer relations, and asset management.

The role involves coordinating events, monitoring campaigns, assembling media kits, and maintaining contact lists, while providing administrative support in a fast-paced publicity environment.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Public Relations, Communications, Media, the Arts, or a related field.
  • At least one internship or equivalent experience in entertainment, broadcast media, publicity, or communications.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong editorial judgment.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and diplomacy.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Curiosity and eagerness to take on new challenges and learn new skills quickly.
  • Strong team-player mindset with the ability to collaborate in an open office environment.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, creative, and proactive.
  • Interest in and understanding of the Canadian broadcast landscape and entertainment trends.

Responsibilities

  • Lead media monitoring for Network campaigns, providing timely coverage reports and insights.
  • Support and grow media and influencer relations to maximize earned media opportunities.
  • Write, edit, and distribute press materials, including press releases, highlights, press kits, show descriptions, bios.
  • Manage photography and media assets for the Lifestyle portfolio, organizing and distributing materials.
  • Assist with publicity campaigns while independently managing a small portfolio of series.
  • Maintain and update media and influencer contact lists, ensuring accuracy.
  • Build and nurture relationships with influencers and digital creators to generate organic social buzz.
  • Coordinate publicity events and activations, such as influencer experiences and press junkets.
  • Assemble and ship media and influencer packages as required.
  • Perform additional duties to support the broader Publicity team.

About the Role

The Publicity Coordinator plays a key role in supporting Corus’ Lifestyle PR team. The role supports the Publicist and Sr. Publicist, reporting into the Publicity Manager, contributing to the development and execution of media and influencer strategies for Home Network, Flavour Network, HISTORY, and Slice and each network’s slate of original and acquired series.

Responsibilities include media monitoring and analytics, writing and distributing press materials, supporting influencer relations, managing media assets, and assisting with junket and event coordination. Some administrative support will also be required.

You will contribute by:
  • Lead media monitoring for Home Network, Flavour Network, HISTORY, and Slice shows and campaigns, providing timely coverage reports and campaign insights.
  • Support and grow media and influencer relations to maximize earned media and influencer opportunities for all network brands and their series.
  • Write, edit, and distribute press materials, including press releases, programming highlights, press kits, show descriptions, bios, and additional publicity documents.
  • Manage photography and media assets for the Lifestyle portfolio, including organizing and distributing approved materials.
  • Assist with major publicity campaigns while independently managing a small portfolio of series.
  • Maintain and update media and influencer contact lists, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Build and nurture relationships with influencers and digital creators to generate organic social buzz around priority series and network brands.
  • Coordinate publicity events and activations, such as influencer experiences, media events, brand activations, and press junkets.
  • Coordinate, assemble, and ship media and influencer packages as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the broader Publicity team.
Skills and experience you will bring:
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Public Relations, Communications, Media, the Arts, or a related field.
  • At least one internship or equivalent experience in entertainment, broadcast media, publicity, or communications.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong editorial judgment.
