Job summary

The ideal candidate holds an MLIS, has strong customer service and communication skills, and can teach technologies and lead community engagement with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Master of Library and Information Science from an accredited institution, or equivalent.
• Proven excellent, proactive customer service skills.
• Effective communicator with good written and verbal skills; comfortable presenting.
• Understanding of the public library role and current trends in services, programs, resources and technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Internet and office software applications and digital resources.
• Experience building relationships with community groups and service providers.

Responsibilities

• Creates excellent customer experiences and serves as a key contact for information in person, by phone, and digitally.
• Uses reference techniques to identify information needs and match services.
• Guides patrons to locate and evaluate information across sources and formats.
• Plans, promotes, and delivers library programs and visits; sources resources as needed.
• Supports system-wide programs and community initiatives; collaborates with community partners.
