The City of Côte Saint-Luc is seeking an Auxiliary Public Security operative to support daily operations of Public Security. The role offers a 32-hour guarantee per week with possible overtime based on department needs and shifts across day, evening, or night hours.

Applicants should have a high school diploma (Grade V), a security background, and a Class 4A driver’s license. The position requires staying calm under pressure and clear, diplomatic communication.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Enforce municipal by-laws pertaining to parking, nuisance, garbage and animal control.
• Inform and/or issue tickets to violators of by-laws.
• Move vehicles obstructing traffic or violating by-laws if needed.
• Patrol municipal buildings and parks.
• Respond to residents’ concerns, complaints and requests.
• Prepare written daily reports and other documents as required.
• Attend court as a witness when needed.
• Undertake other related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Work schedule: 32 guaranteed hours per week, with the possibility of overtime depending on the department's needs.*

Employment type: Auxiliary, White Collar

Compensation: 28.26 $/ hour

* Shifts can be during the day, evening, or night, on weekdays as well as weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Enforce municipal by-laws pertaining to parking, public nuisance, garbage and animal control.
• Inform and/or issue tickets to violators of by-laws.
• Move or have vehicle moved when it is contravening a by-law or obstructing traffic circulation (snow removal).
• Patrol and do inspection of municipal buildings and parks.
• Patrol, by vehicle, the public streets and off-streets to identify infractions to municipal by-laws and take appropriate measures when necessary.
• Do traffic control, when required.
• Respond to residents’ concerns, complaints and requests.
• Gather relevant proof and build files that are likely to involve legal proceedings.
• Deliver and pick up mail and run errands when requested by superiors.
• Follow instructions relating to the verification of vacant homes, parking permits, alarms.
• Enforce procedures and instructions proposed by superiors.
• Do follow-up of complaints, requests and other security problems.
• Prepare a written daily report and others (reports) at superior’s request.
• Be a witness at court of justice, as may be required.
• Undertake any other related duties.
