Job summary

Concord Parking in Edmonton is hiring a Parking Bylaw Enforcement Officer for a full-time, on-site role. You will patrol assigned routes on foot, enforce City of Edmonton parking bylaws, explain rules to the public, and file detailed reports.

The position starts with an hourly training wage, then increases after appointment by the city, with a 5-days-on/2-days-off schedule and shifts between 08:00 and 19:00.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record (fewer than 3 demerits over the past 5 years).
• Clear Criminal Record Check.
• Ability to meet at least one background criterion: 2 years post-secondary education OR 1 year enforcement or security experience OR 3 years supervisory or management experience OR 5 years customer service experience involving conflict resolution.
• Physical capability to walk 20-25+ kilometers daily outdoors in various weather.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Full availability for rotational full-time shifts, including weekends and special events.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned foot routes (Beat Patrol) across Edmonton in all weather conditions, walking 20 to 25+ kilometers per day.
• Identify non-moving vehicle violations under City of Edmonton Bylaw 5590 and issue accurate tickets or warnings.
• Engage with the public to explain parking rules and appeal processes.
• De-escalate challenging interactions professionally and diplomatically.
• Patrol special events such as concerts and sports games to manage traffic flow and event parking.
• Write detailed, factual daily reports, incident logs, and check-in documentation.
• Attend court proceedings when required to present official evidence related to citations.
