NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Public Protection Service is seeking a Public Protection Nurse Advisor. You will provide clinical leadership, professional advice and supervision across a multi-disciplinary team, supporting safeguarding strategies to protect vulnerable groups.
The role requires a Registered Nurse or Midwife with postgraduate protection qualifications and extensive child/adult protection practice, plus willingness to study further as needed.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right person to join NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Public Protection Service as a Public Protection Nurse Advisor. Working within a board-wide team, you will play a pivotal role in promoting a high-quality, safe and effective public protection service and supporting the delivery of NHS GGC Public Protection Strategy – Safeguarding – It Matters to Us. We are seeking candidates who wish to be part of a dynamic developing service and team of Public Protection Nurse Advisors who were highly commended at the RCN Scotland team of the year awards in 2023.
You will provide clinical leadership, specialist professional advice and support and case supervision to a wide range of staff.
You will be committed to working collaboratively across professions and agencies and be able to make evidence-based decisions.
While working as part of a team consisting of the Chief Nurse and Head of Public Protection Service, Public Protection Lead Nurses (Child and Adult Support and Protection), Public Protection Nurse Advisors, Lead Paediatrician for Child Protection, Public Protection Medical Lead and Administration Staff.

From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part-time working hours will be reduced on a pro-rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
