Job summary

CommerceLink Logistics ULC, a division of Canada Cartage, is seeking a Gatehouse Attendant in Mississauga. You will be the front-line liaison between Fleet Operations, Asset, and Safety, supporting daily driver scheduling and documentation.

This contract role offers overnight and weekend shifts with home daily schedules. You will perform incident reporting, fleet communication, yard inspections, and help keep drivers, trucks, and keys moving smoothly.

Qualifications

Knowledge of equipment and trucks.
Able to work in a fast-paced team atmosphere.

Able to lift up to 35 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

Forward incident/accident statements and distribute correspondence between management and the associate.
Communicate fleet issues between dispatch, onsite mechanic and Fleet Systems/Assets administrator.
Monitor yard for damage and email Safety with photos.
Follow the tractor red tag process and coordinate with the onsite mechanic for efficiency.
Data entry of drivers and trucks into TMW and report unscheduled absences.
Monitor stock and replenish driver supplies in cab (seals, run sheets, first aid kits).
Assist drivers with tractor locations and dispatch instructions.
Coordinate order for drivers to return keys from the Keyper machine and report low equipment levels.

This position provides opportunity to be home daily while working overnight and weekend shifts. Drivers will be responsible for timely and secure local deliveries, completing vehicle inspections, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing excellent customer service.

Position Summary

The Gatehouse Attendant is the front-line liaison between the Fleet Operations, Asset and Safety Departments. The associate is in continuous support, monitoring and maintaining the transition through a daily driver schedule.

What you'll do.

Forward any incident/accident statements and hand out any necessary correspondence between management and the associate
Communicate any necessary fleet issues between the onsite mechanic, Fleet shuttle driver and Fleet Systems and Assets administrator
Monitor and pass on any damage reported in the yard with pics with a corresponding email to the Safety department and Management.
Follow the tractor red tag process and organize into order of efficiency with the onsite mechanic.
Data entry of drivers and trucks into TMW and the reporting of any unexpected absences or unscheduled arrivals.
Monitor, stock and report replenishment needs on in cab driver supplies - i.e. seals, run sheets, first aid kits etc.
Assist drivers with tractor locations, special instructions from dispatch, and tracking info on the resource run sheet.
Coordinate the order that drivers remove keys from the Keyper machine. Manage all keys have been returned and no trucks parked for prolonged time. Report low equipment levels to dispatch team.
