Job summary

CommerceLink Logistics ULC, a division of Canada Cartage, is seeking a Full-time Long-Haul Driver to join our Mississauga team. This role includes overnight and weekend shifts with home daily, delivering locally and maintaining driver logs and inspections.

The ideal candidate holds an AZ/Class 1 license with at least 3 years of long-haul experience, is 23 or older, and can communicate effectively with Dispatch and customers.

Qualifications

• AZ/Class 1 license with 3+ years long-haul driving experience.
• Must be 23 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre/post trip inspections of the tractor trailer, checking gauges, lights and leaks.
• Connect and disconnect semi-trailer hoses.
• Complete all required paperwork and Driver Log.
• Maintain communication with Dispatch.
• Build positive relationships with customers and co-workers.
• Perform physical tasks as needed (lift >50 lbs).
• Operate satellite tracking equipment.
• Comply with Ministry of Transportation and Highway Traffic Act rules.

This position provides opportunity to be home daily while working overnight and weekend shifts. Drivers will be responsible for timely and secure local deliveries, completing vehicle inspections, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing excellent customer service.

Position Summary

Operating tractor trailer equipped with multi-speed transmission (Automatic or Manual) safely by adhering to all safety requirements

What you'll do.

• Perform inspections of mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment of tractor trailer unit before, during, and after trips, including gauges, lighting and electrical systems, and visual checks of potential water, oil, fuel and air leaks
• Connect and disconnect semi-trailer hoses
• Completing all applicable paperwork. Maintain up-to-date Driver Log throughout the duration of each shift.
• Responsible for communicating with Dispatch.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers and co-workers in a professional manner
• Be able to perform physical work at times (lifting more than 50lbs)
• Use of satellite tracking equipment
• Observing and complying with rules and regulations of the Ministry of Transportation and the Highway Traffic Act

Minimum Qualifications.

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position.

Age - 23 or older License - AZ / Class 1 Driver's License - 3 years of Long-Haul driving experience.
