Canada Cartage is seeking a Gatehouse Attendant in Mississauga for overnight and weekend shifts. You will serve as the front-line liaison among Fleet Operations, Asset and Safety Departments, ensuring smooth transitions through daily driver schedules and accurate documentation.

The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and timely, secure local deliveries, with duties including vehicle inspections, coordination with dispatch, and maintaining driver equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Forward incident/accident statements and distribute correspondence to management.
• Communicate fleet issues between onsite mechanic, shuttle driver, Fleet Systems and Assets administrator.
• Monitor and report damage in the yard with photos, emailing Safety and Management.
• Follow tractor red tag process and coordinate with onsite mechanic for efficiency.
• Enter driver and truck data into TMW; report absences or unscheduled arrivals.

This position provides opportunity to be home daily while working overnight and weekend shifts. Drivers will be responsible for timely and secure local deliveries, completing vehicle inspections, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing excellent customer service.

Position Summary

The Gatehouse Attendant is the front-line liaison between the Fleet Operations, Asset and Safety Departments. The associate is in continuous support, monitoring and maintaining the transition through a daily driver schedule.

What you'll do.

• Forward any incident/accident statements and hand out any necessary correspondence between management and the associate
• Communicate any necessary fleet issues between the onsite mechanic, Fleet shuttle driver and Fleet Systems and Assets administrator
• Monitor and pass on any damage reported in the yard with pics with a corresponding email to the Safety department and Management.
• Follow the tractor red tag process and organize into order of efficiency with the onsite mechanic.
• Data entry of drivers and trucks into TMW and the reporting of any unexpected absences or unscheduled arrivals.
• Monitor, stock and report replenishment needs on in cab driver supplies – i.e. seals, run sheets, first aid kits etc.
• Assist drivers with tractor locations, special instructions from dispatch, and tracking info on the resource run sheet.
• Coordinate the order that drivers remove keys from the Keyper machine. Manage all keys have been returned and no trucks parked for prolonged time. Report low equipment levels to dispatch team.

Job Type: Contract

Expected hours: 40 per week but could vary depending on the operational needs.
