The Virtual Psychiatry Unit represents a novel approach to delivering acute Mental Health and Substance Use care across the Fraser Health Region. This innovative program provides the opportunity to work within a team-based, inter-professional environment, delivering care to acute patients directly in their homes via virtual channels.
As a qualified or eligible Psychiatrist, you will provide top-tier care to adult patients as part of an interdisciplinary team. Your responsibilities include consulting at the Virtual Psychiatry Unit, engaging in outreach to patients' residences, and participating in assessments, outpatient treatment, consultations, family meetings, case conferences, discharge planning, and education of psychiatry residents and medical students.
This fully remote clinical role includes virtual on-call duties. In-person attendance for occasional team meetings may be required.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring continuity of care by fostering positive relationships with all involved in patient care and advocating for the psychiatric needs of individual patients.
