Current College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) License. Full Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) membership is mandatory.

The Department of Psychiatry seeks a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join the Compass Program, supporting healthcare providers across British Columbia and the Yukon. The program offers advice, evidence-based treatment recommendations, healthcare navigation, and resource identification to deliver patient- and family-centered care close to home, via virtual and telephone consultations, online and in-person education. The work is primarily indirect, clinical, and conducted remotely, remunerated through a service contract. Services are available 7 days a week from 0900H to 2100H, with shifts from 0900H to 1700H or 1700H to 2100H, allowing some flexibility. Psychiatrists work mainly from home but attend educational and team activities 1-2 times annually and may travel across BC and the Yukon for interdisciplinary teaching and rapport building. Experience with assessment and treatment of children and youth with complex psychiatric disorders, including substance use, and working with rural and remote communities are assets.
This role is ideal for an experienced psychiatrist interested in clinical support and system navigation in diverse settings across BC and Yukon. The department offers teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to clinical and academic excellence, be eligible for RCPSC and CPSBC membership, and demonstrate a trauma-informed approach in clinical and professional relationships.
