The Virtual Psychiatry Unit offers a novel approach to delivering acute Mental Health and Substance Use care to clients across the Fraser Health Region. This innovative program provides an opportunity to work within a team-based, inter-professional environment where care is administered to acute patients directly in their homes and through virtual channels.
As a qualified or eligible Psychiatrist, you will deliver top-tier care to adult patients served by Fraser Health as part of an interdisciplinary team. Your responsibilities will include consulting at the Virtual Psychiatry Unit, engaging in outreach to patients' residences, providing consultation to Assisted Living and long-term care facilities in collaboration with attending physicians, and participating in consultation liaison within MHSU.
Services encompass assessment, outpatient treatment and consultation, family meetings, case conferences, discharge planning, and education of psychiatry residents and medical students.
You will also play a crucial role in ensuring continuity of care by fostering positive relationships with all involved in patient care and advocating for the psychiatric needs of individual patients.
