Fraser Health is adopting virtual methods to enhance patient care.
The Virtual Psychiatry Unit is an innovative approach to delivering acute Mental Health and Substance Use care across the Fraser Health Region. It provides an opportunity to work within a team-based, interprofessional environment, delivering care directly to patients in their homes via virtual channels.
As a qualified or eligible Psychiatrist, you will provide high-quality care to adult patients as part of an interdisciplinary team. Your responsibilities include consulting at the Virtual Psychiatry Unit, engaging in outreach to patients' residences, and participating in patient assessments, outpatient treatment, consultations, family meetings, case conferences, discharge planning, and education of psychiatry residents and medical students.
You will also play a key role in ensuring continuity of care, fostering positive relationships with the care team, and advocating for patients' psychiatric needs.
This role is primarily remote, including virtual on-call duties, with occasional in-person attendance for team meetings if required.
