Job summary

Northern Health Region, Manitoba is seeking a Health Care Aide to provide compassionate patient care in a hospital/clinic setting. The role includes assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining patient comfort, and supporting nursing staff on site.

On-site work requires BCLS and Health Care Aide certification; duties span feeding, transporting patients, taking vitals, bathing, dressing, bed making, and inventory tasks within a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate.
• Health Care Aide Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities
• Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort
• Perform other duties related to personal care
• Supply and empty bed pans
• Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse
• Serve meal trays and feed patients
• Weigh, lift and position patients
• Deliver messages, reports, requisitions and specimens between departments
• Make beds and maintain patients' rooms
• Supervise patients' exercise routines
• Maintain inventory of supplies
• Bathe, dress and groom patients
• Transport patients between care facilities
• Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher
