Job summary

Home Care Assistance is hiring a Personal Support Worker for a long-term care facility in Collingwood. Shifts vary from mornings to evenings, with overnights and some weekends. Candidates need 2+ years of experience and a valid PSW certificate.

A driver’s license and insured vehicle are mandatory. Competitive pay starts at $21 per hour, with benefits after 30+ hours per week, 4% vacation pay, flexible hours, and a 4–6 hour shift minimum.

Qualifications

• PSW certification required.
• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate.
• PVSC completed within last 6 months.
• Driver's license and own insured vehicle required.
• Strong references from previous employers.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to clients.
• Offer cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support.
• Provide behavior support and crisis intervention.
• Maintain open communication with client and family.
• Monitor and document changes in the care plan.

The successful candidate’s areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide personal care
• Drivers license and reliable car are mandatory for this position.
• Providingcognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support
• Provide behaviorsupport and crisis intervention
• Maintaining open communication with client and their family
• Monitoring care plan and adding documentation with any changes and updates
• Responding to all emergency situations
• All other duties, as assigned

• Clear and detailed care notes

Key qualifications for this position will include, but are not limited to:

• PSW certification*required
• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate
• Completion of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months

• Satisfactory professional references
• Ability toaccurately follow written and verbal instructions
• Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters
