Job summary

Nova Scotia Health seeks an IMIT Provincial Manager for Registration & Switchboard Services to lead provincial information management and data quality initiatives. You will guide registration, scheduling, and switchboard transformations, with travel to multiple sites and accountability for governance and compliance across NS Health.

The role requires CHIMA registration and AHIMA experience, 5–7 years in health information leadership, and a BA/BS in health information management or related field;

Qualifications

• Current registration with CHIMA and the Nova Scotia Health Information Management Association.
• Experience implementing health information management strategies in large organisations.
• Knowledge of privacy and health information legislation (FOIPOP, PIPEDA, Hospitals Act).
• Minimum 5–7 years’ progressive leadership in health information management.
• Undergraduate degree related to health information management (or equivalent).
• PMP and/or organizational change management certification an asset.
• CPHIMS designation an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of operational plans to meet portfolio goals and financial targets.
• Maintain provincial oversight while leading information management teams.
• Support clinical programs with data collection and quality reviews.
• Ensure information governance and compliance with legislation and standards.
• Lead staff across the province; travel as required.
• Apply governance to policy, processes, systems and tools for stakeholders.
• Monitor data quality and audit information to ensure accuracy.
• Address clinical inquiries related to information management standards.
