Save-On-Foods is hiring a Protective Services Guard to safeguard our Fraser Valley locations. The role requires commuting among Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Mission, with a focus on preventing theft and ensuring safety for customers and staff.

Qualifications

• Must hold a BC Security Worker’s Licence with Security Guard endorsement.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Mission locations.
• Strong decision-making skills and ability to act quickly under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated integrity, enthusiasm, and willingness to go the extra mile.
• AST certification is an asset; second language is an asset.

Responsibilities

This position requires commuting to multiple locations within Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Mission on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Identifying theft, mischief, and fraud.
• Maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and staff.
• Observing, meeting and greeting customers.
• Approaching situations with a customer-first mindset.
• Maintaining a professional demeanor when dealing with the public, staff, and law enforcement agencies.
• Conducting security audits of the building and assets.
• Performing arrests, ask to pays, and product recoveries.
• Adhering to all company policies and procedures.
• Documenting all evidence and typing clear and concise reports as required.

Qualifications

• A valid BC Security Worker’s Licence with Security Guard endorsement.
• Reliable transportation with the ability to travel between various store locations.
• Solid decision-making skills with the ability to make quick decisions under difficult circumstances.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with minimal supervision.
• Integrity, enthusiasm, and willingness to Go the Extra Mile.
• Valid Advanced Security Training/AST (considered an asset).
• Fluency in a second language (considered an asset).
• Open availability (considered an asset).

Compensation

$20.00 - $26.00 The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
