Save-On-Foods in Victoria, BC is seeking a Protective Services Guard to join our team. You will help safeguard customers, staff, and operations while engaging with the public in a professional manner.

Responsibilities include identifying theft, maintaining a safe environment, conducting security audits, reporting incidents, and collaborating with law enforcement as needed. We offer paid training, weekly pay, and benefits to eligible team members.

Qualifications

• BC Security Worker’s Licence with Security Guard endorsement is required.
• Reliable transportation with ability to travel between locations.
• Strong decision-making under difficult circumstances.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
• Integrity, enthusiasm and willingness to go the extra mile.
• Advanced Security Training (AST) is a plus.
• Second language is a plus.
• Open availability is a plus.

You will be responsible for:

• Identifying theft, mischief, and fraud.
• Maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and staff.
• Observing, meeting and greeting customers.
• Approaching situations with a customer-first mindset.
• Maintaining a professional demeanour when dealing with the public, staff, and law enforcement agencies.
• Conducting security audits of the building and assets.
• Performing arrests, ask to pays, and product recoveries.
• Adhering to all company policies and procedures.
• Documenting all evidence and typing clear and concise reports as required.

You have:

• A valid BC Security Worker’s Licence with Security Guard endorsement.
• Reliable transportation with the ability to travel between various store locations.
• Solid decision-making skills with the ability to make quick decisions under difficult circumstances.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with minimal supervision.
• Integrity, enthusiasm, and willingness to Go the Extra Mile.
• Valid Advanced Security Training/AST (considered an asset).
• Fluency in a second language (considered an asset).
• Open availability (considered an asset).

Compensation Details: $20.00 - $26.00 The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
