Job summary

Save-On-Foods in Kelowna, BC is hiring a Protective Services Guard to help keep customers and staff safe while protecting assets. You will identify theft, monitor activity, greet customers, and respond with a customer‑first mindset.

Qualifications

• Must have BC Security Worker’s Licence with Security Guard endorsement.
• Solid decision‑making skills with the ability to make quick decisions under difficult circumstances.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with minimal supervision.
• Integrity, enthusiasm, and willingness to Go the Extra Mile.
• AST training/education is an asset.
• Fluency in a second language is an asset.
• Open availability is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Identify theft, mischief, and fraud.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and staff.

• Conduct security audits of the building and assets.
• Perform arrests, detain suspected offenders, and product recoveries.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Document evidence and prepare clear, concise reports.

You will be responsible for:

• Identifying theft, mischief, and fraud.
• Maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and staff.

• Maintaining a professional demeanor when dealing with the public, staff, and law enforcement agencies.
• Conducting security audits of the building and assets.
• Performing arrests, ask to pays, and product recoveries.
• Adhering to all company policies and procedures.
• Documenting all evidence and typing clear and concise reports as required.

You have:

• A valid BC Security Worker’s Licence with Security Guard endorsement.
• Solid decision-making skills with the ability to make quick decisions under difficult circumstances.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with minimal supervision.
• Integrity, enthusiasm, and willingness to Go the Extra Mile.
• Valid Advanced Security Training/AST (considered an asset).
• Fluency in a second language (considered an asset).
• Open availability (considered an asset).

Compensation Details:

$20.00 - $26.00
