Qualifications

  • Completion of high school education; university degree or post-secondary education related to insurance preferred.
  • Ongoing commitment to education; adjuster’s license or CIP designation pursued preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive).
  • At least 3–5 years’ experience handling property claims; Alberta licensing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prompt contact and follow up with policyholders, clients, and claimants.
  • Investigate causes and report to clients with solid recommendations.
  • Scope and establish quantum of damages using supplied technology (e.g., Docusketch).
  • Identify exposures and prepare coverage analysis reports; advise on reserves and investigations.
  • Negotiate fair settlements and provide a high level of customer service throughout the claims process.
  • Support after-hours customer service when required.

Property Adjuster - Calgary, Alberta, Canada

We have an existing opportunity to add an Intermediate Property Field Adjuster to join our growing team! You will work in a Hybrid based environment supporting field requests within the Calgary (Southern Alberta Region).

The Claims Adjuster actively adjusts claims while ensuring that business development opportunities are maximized. This involves marketing and follow-up of opportunities in a timely manner. To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate must have at least 3 to 5 years’ experiencehandling Property claims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prompt contact and follow up with policy holders, clients, and claimants.
  • Investigate the cause and report to clients with solid recommendations.
  • Using supplied technology (e.g., Docusketch.), scope and establish quantum of damages.
  • Identify exposures, complete focused coverage analysis reports. recommend reserves, recommend investigation required for exposure, prepare action plans, and negotiate fair and satisfactory settlements.
  • Throughout the claims process, you will provide elevated level of customer service to clients and the insured.
  • You will participate and share ownership and responsibility for after-hours customer service requirements when required.
  • Perform duties assigned to him/her in compliance with established work standards, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Completion of high school education; University degree or post-secondary education related to insurancewill be given preference.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive).
  • At least 3 to 5 years’ experience handling property claims
  • Ongoing commitment to education and learning; adjuster’s license, or currently pursuing CIP designation. Preference to those who qualify for and/or currently hold full licensing in Alberta.
  • Effective analytical skills, including identification of cause-and-effect dynamics.
  • Able to draw valid conclusions and effectively communicate them.
  • Ability to interpret complex documents of a legal nature, perform and understand advanced numerical calculations including analysis of comparative information.
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening, interviewing, negotiating, must be able to flex style appropriate to audience.
  • Initiative-taking and positive approach to customer service ensuring that all inquiries are effectively dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Strong people skills allow you to effectively deal with conflict and demanding situations.
